STATE FUNDS AWARDED FOR SEWAGE PLAN UPDATE HARRISBURG, JAN. 22 – State Sen. Connie Williams announced that nearly $25,000 was awarded to a joint sewer authority in Montgomery County to defray the costs of preparing an update to its sewage plans. The East Norriton-Plymouth-Whitpain Joint Sewer Authority was awarded the $24,643 grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under its Sewage Facilities Planning Grants program (Act 537 of 1966). "The funds are vital to ensuring these plans are updated to meet the current needs and available technology," Williams said. "All of the partners involved in making this happen – from the sewage authority to local governments and the Commonwealth – are to be commended for their role in protecting the health of the public and safeguarding Pennsylvania's environment through their ongoing commitment to updating these plans." |
