WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES 1ST ANNUAL LIBRARIAN RECOGNITION AWARDS HARRISBURG, February 20, 2003 - - Senator Connie Williams (D-Montgomery/Delaware) today announced the 1st Annual Librarian Recognition Awards, created to recognize any professional librarian currently working in a public or school library within the 17th Senatorial District. The 17th District includes the townships of Haverford, Radnor, Upper Merion, Lower Merion, East Norriton and Plymouth and the boroughs of Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Norristown and Bridgeport. All nominees will receive special recognition for their valuable work and an award will be given to one outstanding librarian. An award ceremony will be held during Library Recognition Week on April 7 at 8:00 a.m. at Bryn Mawr College, M. Carey Library in Thomas Great Hall. Nominations should include the librarian’s overall service including any special programs they may have created or improved, their knowledge of their facility and resources, and their commitment to helping the public. Any member of the community may nominate a librarian. Forms are available at local libraries, schools, and at both of Senator Williams’ district offices, located in King of Prussia and Havertown.
