RIVERBEND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER TO RECEIVE GRANT HARRISBURG, April 30, 2002 - State Senator Constance H. Williams today announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has awarded $1,000 in grant money to the Riverbend Environmental Education Center in Montgomery County. The Environmental Education Grant Program has allocated the money to support the Riverbend Environmental Education Center’s teacher training efforts. The grant money will to used to provide educational materials, transportation costs or teacher stipends. "I am delighted Riverbend has received this grant because the center is a vital contribution to the community," Williams (D-Montgomery/Delaware) said. "Their trails amid old growth forests provide special paths in which people can escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. The reconstructed barn is a wonderful environmental center for citizens of all ages." |
