HARRISBURG, May 2, 2003 - - Senator Connie Williams (D-Montgomery/Delaware) today announced that Lower Merion Township is slated to receive a park grant under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Lower Merion Township will be the recipient of an $80,000 grant, which will provide for renovations and the further development of Ashbridge Park.

Williams said that plans are underway to build a restroom and pavilion at the park and that playground equipment and benches will also be added.

“I am pleased that Lower Merion Township is receiving this parks grant which will truly enhance the recreational landscape,” Williams said.
