NEW RESOURCE GUIDELINES ON DENTAL AND HEALTH INSURANCE ELIGIBILITY HARRISBURG, MAY 17 – State Sen. Connie Williams thanked the Philadelphia Citizens for Children and Youth for putting together its latest publications – Oral Health Resources Guide and Health Insurance Eligibility Charts. "By putting together these publications, PCCY has taken some of the guess work out of finding appropriate health care for your children," Williams said. "The dental care resource guide is geared to families on Medical Assistance and lists – in English and in Spanish – 53 dental practices that accept MA, as well as 14 that are pediatric practices. The guides also have useful information for parents on making sure their children's teeth are healthy." The guide is geared to the Philadelphia area and also highlights which practices offer free or low cost care, services for children with special health care needs and whether languages other than English are spoken in the office. The publication, in both English and Spanish, is available on PCCY's Web site at www.pccy.org, under the heading "publications." Another equally valuable publication, is the PCCY Child Health Watch health insurance income eligibility charts for children in Pennsylvania. These downloadable charts take the guesswork out of determining whether your child would qualify for Medical Assistance, Free CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program), one of the various CHIP tiers or at-cost CHIP. It is broken down based on family size, income and child's age. The charts also provide a user-friendly section on allowable deductions and how to determine household size. To view this and other PCCY publications, visit the organization's Web site at www.pccy.org. For assistance in completing CHIP applications, constituents may call either of Williams' district offices at 610-992-9790 (King of Prussia) or 610-853-5433 (Havertown). For families without access to the Internet, Williams reminds that many of the local public libraries offer online access. |
