NARBERTH COMMUNITY LIBRARY RECEIVES GRANT TO HELP OBTAIN LIBRARY BUILDING CONSULTANT

HARRISBURG, May 28, 2003 - State Senator Connie Williams (D-Montgomery/Delaware) today announced that the Narberth Community Library has been awarded a $5,000 grant that will be applied to fees associated with the hiring of an approved Library Building Consultant.

The library’s board of trustees plans to apply for a Keystone Grant next year to help finance some major renovations and expansions.

The hiring of a Library Consultant is required when applying for a Keystone Grant. The total cost of hiring a consultant is estimated to be $25,000.

“Narberth Community Library has been providing library services from the same building the past 65 years,” Williams said.

“I am pleased that the library received this grant which will help it take the required first step before carrying out its planned renovations and expansions.”

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development awarded the funding through its community-development projects program.
