WILLIAMS ELECTED SENATE CO-CHAIRWOMAN TO DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP COUNCIL HARRISBURG, June 13, 2002 - - State Senator Connie Williams today announced that she was recently elected Senate Co-Chairwoman to the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC). "The DLC is a growing movement of new Democrats who are forming a network between elected officials and community leaders," Williams(D-Montgomery/Delaware) said. "I am honored to be part of an organization whose innovative ideas are modernizing progressive politics for the 21st century." The DLC is an organization that believes in equal opportunities for all Americans and special privileges for none. "This organization is a grassroots effort to make opportunities available to all while, at the same time, demanding responsibility from Americans and fostering a sense of community," Williams said.
