STATE GRANTS AWARDED IN DELAWARE COUNTY

HARRISBURG, JUNE 29 – State Sen. Connie Williams is pleased to announce that state grants totaling nearly $600,000 were awarded in Delaware County.

“These grants were the result of a coordinated effort on the part of Delaware County and the Delaware County and the Delaware County Regional Water Quality Control Authority to update sewage systems plans,” Williams said.

The grants of $511,173 (awarded to the authority) and $78,639 (awarded to the county) represent a 50 percent reimbursement of the cost of preparing the official sewage plans and revisions to the official plans for sewage systems.

Grants were awarded by the Department of Environmental Protection through its Sewage Facilities Planning Grant Program of Act 537 of 1966.
