RURAL HISTORY CONFEDERATION RECEIVES MUSEUM GRANT HARRISBURG, July 18, 2003 - - Senator Connie Williams (D-Montgomery/Delaware) today announced that the Rural History Confederation (RHC) of Bryn Mawr recently received a $15,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy. The RHC is an association of 17 museums and historic sites dedicated to preserving the past and promoting historical awareness of the region. The grant will enable the RHC to collaborate with a consultant from LaSalle Nonprofit Management Development Center to conduct a project to improve marketing for the Confederation as a whole and for each individual historical site. The development and interpretation of a visitor survey will be funded by the grant in order to understand how the RHC can better serve and educate its visitors. The grant also will provide funding for the creation of a marketing plan complete with specific strategies for implementation by the RHC collectively as well as by its individual sites. “A visit to one or all of the unique historical museums gives a comprehensive view of how Southeastern Pennsylvania blossomed since Colonial times and through the Industrial Age,” Williams said. “I am pleased that the Rural History Confederation received this grant to help it preserve and sustain the great heritage of historic sites of this region.” |
