WILLIAMS TO OFFER A NEW CONSTITUENT SERVICE

HARRISBURG, AUG. 3 – State Sen. Connie Williams ran for state office with the intent of bringing state government to the people and now she is offering a new e-mail service that will provide up-to-the-minute updates on issues that matter most to them.

“There are a number of ways people can tune in to what is happening in Harrisburg – PCN, House and Senate Web sites, and the media, but often these resources don’t have the resources or air time to break down the latest information into issues,” Williams said. “And many people don’t have the time to look through pages of information to obtain updates on the issues that matter most to them. That is why I am providing a new e-mail service that categorizes the issues, and allows people to select to receive information just on the issues that matter most to them.”

You’re The First To Know is available on Williams’ Web site at www.pasenate.com/cwilliams. Following the link from the front page, constituents can fill in the fields on the You’re The First To Know screen, select any number of issue categories and hit send. The information is automatically sent to a database held exclusively in the Senator’s Harrisburg office. The database cannot be accessed by any other group or organization outside of the Senator’s office and will not be used for campaign purposes.

As things happen in Harrisburg, Williams will provide e-mail updates to those who sign up for You’re The First To Know.

“Technology has provided a means to quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively distribute information to the people,” Williams said. “My latest constituent service makes use of technology and allows people greater access to their state government.”

The new service is provided free to all constituents of the Senator’s Legislative District – there is no charge to sign-up or receive e-mail updates.
