STATE GRANTS AWARDED IN MONTGOMERY/DELAWARE COUNTIES

HARRISBURG, Aug. 14 – State Sen. Connie Williams announced that state funds had been returned to the 17^th Senatorial District to safeguard the local environment.

 The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection awarded the following grants:

• $25,503 – Delaware County under the County Recycling Coordinator Grant Program.

• $145,271 – Delaware County under the Sewage Facilities Planning Grants Program

• $8,941 – East Norriton Township (Montgomery County) under the Sewage Facilities Planning Grants Program.

 "Each of these grants will be used to help keep our environment cleaner, which improves the quality of life every resident, visitor and business enjoys," Williams said. "I encourage my local governments to continue their efforts to safeguard the environment."
