PHEAA’S CAMPUSCHAMPS GETS NEW FEATURESHARRISBURG, SEPT. 3 – Student athletes who plan to actively participate in a sport on a collegiate level are encouraged to visit PHEAA’s new and improved CampusChamps.com Web site, according to state Sen. Connie Williams, who noted a variety of new features have been added in response to student interest. “This Web site is uniquely designed for student athletes, complete with a search engine that will allow students to search for a school that meets both their athletic and academic expectations,” Williams said. “Aside from the redesign of the site, there is a new topic area that deals with scholarship programs and current articles that pertain to athletics.” American Education Services (AES) and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) maintain the site, which can offer one-on-one assistance through the Web-enabled eCommunications Center. The center provides instant communication with AES/PHEAA representatives 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The center offers e-mail and live two-way chat with an option for voice over the Net. Students can also schedule a convenient time for an AES/PHEAA representative to contact them. Telephone access is available by calling toll-free at 877-603-6010. “PHEAA and AES offer a variety of options for students pursuing their higher education goals,” Williams said. “Families just starting to plan for higher education, should take some time and explore the programs PHEAA has to offer.” For more information about PHEAA and its programs, visit www.pheaa.org. |
