NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER FOR SENIOR EXPO 2006 HARRISBURG, SEPT. 20 – State Sen. Connie Williams reminds older adults in the 17th Senatorial District that it is not too late to register for the 2006 Senior Expo, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6th at Plymouth Meeting Mall. "I've heard from a number of people who plan to attend, but am still accepting reservations," Williams said. "This year is going to be even bigger and better, with more vendors and a very special guest speaker – Dr. Dan Gottlieb." Gottlieb is host of "Voices in the Family," an award-wining mental health call-in radio show on WHYY 90.9 FM, and author of "On Healing" a column that appears the first and third Monday of each month in the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is also a prominent psychologist and family therapist, who has authored several books. His latest book, "Letters to Sam: A Grandfather's Lessons on Love, Loss and the Gifts of Life," will be available for purchase at the expo. The author has kindly agreed to offer signed copies or autographed book plates for the books purchased at the expo. A variety of exhibits and information will be available for everyone who attends. According to Williams, among those slated to participate are county, state and federal agencies that deal with consumer protection, health care, Social Security, transportation, public safety and much more. Those who attend will be treated to a complimentary lunch and door prizes. The expo is free to all older adults in the 17th Senatorial District. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to one of Williams’ offices – in King of Prussia at 610-992-9790 or in Havertown at 610-853-5433. The Plymouth Meeting Mall is on Germantown Pike, a quarter mile west of the Turnpike/I-476 Interchange. People are asked to use the “Storehouse Furniture” entrance, across from the old Ikea. |
