TOWN MEETINGS TO FOCUS ON STATE TAX REFORM LAW

HARRISBURG, SEPT. 22 – State Sen. Connie Williams has planned two town meetings to allow residents in the 17th District to learn more about the state’s tax reform law and to have their questions answered.

“The new tax reform law can be confusing, which is understandable, because this is the first major shift away from using property tax to fund public schools in the state’s history,” Williams said. “During the town meetings, I will provide not only a basic overview of the new law and how it will affect the district, but I also have invited officials from the governor’s office and the Senate who have particular expertise in the law, to answer questions.”

The town meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct 7th in Norristown High School Auditorium and at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13th in Radnor High School Auditorium. They are open to any resident of the 17th District.

“This is a great opportunity for every resident to learn more about the new law and to talk to experts on the topic directly,” Williams said. “I hope to see a lot of people at the meetings.”
