FIRST TOWN MEETING NEXT WEEKHARRISBURG, SEPT. 27 – Do you have questions on Pennsylvania’s new tax reform law and how it will affect you? State Sen. Connie Williams invites residents of the 17th Senatorial District to learn more about the new law and to have their questions answered by experts during two town meetings she is hosting. The first meeting will take place next week on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Norristown High School Auditorium. Williams also is hosting a second town meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 13th at 7 p.m. in Radnor High School Auditorium. “During the town meetings, people will be offered an overview of the new law, with information on how the law impacts local school districts and taxpayers,” Williams said. “I’ve also invited an expert from the Governor’s Policy Office and the Senate (both of whom were instrumental in helping to write the legislation) to attend and answer individual questions. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to receive the most complete information on the new law and to ask their questions to the experts.” According to Williams, the new law represents the first major shift away from using property tax to fund public schools in the state’s history. “I’ve received numerous calls and inquiries from constituents since debate on this issue began,” Williams said. “I hope to see many of those people, as well as other constituents who have questions, at one of the two meetings.” |
