2004 SENIOR EXPO JUST A FEW WEEKS AWAYHARRISBURG, SEPT. 27 – Pennsylvania is home to one of the largest populations of older Americans in the nation and, according to state Sen. Connie Williams, the Commonwealth provides a variety of services and programs to meet the ever-changing needs of older adults. Williams is offering a one-stop shop for older adults to learn about a variety of federal, state, county and local programs for seniors during her 2004 Senior Expo, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14th at The Plymouth Meeting Mall. “My annual Senior Expo continues to be a very popular event, because it provides a vast array of information on programs and opportunities that people can use,” Williams said. “Through exhibits, information and the chance to speak one-on-one with representatives of various groups and organizations, older adults who visit the expo can tailor the event to meet their needs.” Once again the event will feature a special programs on issues of interest to seniors and door prizes. The event is free to all older adults in the 17th Senatorial District. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to one of Williams’ offices – in King of Prussia at 610-992-9790 or in Havertown at 610-853-5433. The Plymouth Meeting Mall is on Germantown Pike, a quarter mile west of the Turnpike/I-476 Interchange. People are asked to use the “Storehouse Furniture” entrance, across from the old Ikea. |
