WILLIAMS’ NEWSLETTER GOING ONLINEHARRISBURG, SEPT. 28 – State Sen. Connie Williams is making use of current technology to communicate with her constituents, and has decided to post her latest newsletter online, instead of mailing it to all of her constituents. “In addition to posting the newsletter on my Web site, I will have copies of the newsletter printed that will be available at various locations, including my district offices and local libraries, and I will mail them upon request,” Williams said. “Using technology in this way will save taxpayer dollars.” The latest newsletter contains information on Growing Greener II, prescription drug programs to help people in obtaining medication and an update on new legislation, as well as a host of photos from various events around the 17th Senatorial District. It also contains information on fighting identity theft and the new “You’re the First to Know” service being offered to constituents. “In one sense, I am breaking new ground by just posting my newsletter on my Web site and making copies available, but I believe that we should begin to utilize the newest technology, especially if it saves taxpayer money,” Williams said. “I welcome comments from my constituents on using this new distribution method. If constituents feel that the new method didn’t meet their needs, I want to know.” The newsletter is available on Williams’ Web site, which is located at www.pasenate.com/cwilliams and can be found by clicking on Newsroom and highlighting newsletters. While constituents are on her site, Williams encourages them to take some time to explore. |
