SENIOR EXPO 2005 NEXT WEEKHARRISBURG, SEPT. 28 – For state Sen. Connie Williams removing barriers that stand between the people and their government was an important reason to seek state office. It continues to be the motivation behind the events she plans, including Senior Expo 2005, which will be held next week on Friday, Oct. 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. “This is a free event that is designed to promote a greater awareness of programs and opportunities available for older adults,” Williams said. “To take advantage of a program, you first need to know that it is available. Residents who attend the expo will be able to learn first-hand about programs being offered on the local, county, state and federal levels. Those who attend will leave armed with the information they need to take the next step in accessing valuable programs. In many cases, people will have the opportunity to complete and submit forms while they are at the expo.” The event will feature a complimentary lunch, special programs on issues of interest to seniors, and door prizes. The event is free to all older adults in the 17th Senatorial District. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to one of Williams’ offices – in King of Prussia at 610-992-9790 or in Havertown at 610-853-5433. The Plymouth Meeting Mall is on Germantown Pike, a quarter mile west of the Turnpike/I-476 Interchange. People are asked to use the “Storehouse Furniture” entrance, across from the old Ikea. |
