TOWN MEETING THIS WEEKHARRISBURG, OCT. 4 – State Sen. Connie Williams reminds residents that the first of two town meetings on the state’s new tax reform law will take place this week. “This is a wonderful opportunity for residents of the 17th Senatorial District to learn more about the tax reform law and to have their questions answered by experts who helped to write the legislation,” Williams said. The first meeting will take place on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Norristown High School Auditorium. Williams also is hosting a second town meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 13th at 7 p.m. in Radnor High School Auditorium. Williams will offer an overview of the new law and information on how it will impact residents. Joining her during the event are legal and policy specialists from the administration. According to Williams, the new law represents the first major shift away from using property tax to fund public schools in the state’s history. “I’ve received numerous calls and inquiries from constituents since debate on this issue began,” Williams said. “I hope to see many of those people, as well as other constituents who have questions, at one of the two meetings.” |
