FREE DRIVER’S LICENSE REPLACEMENT FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

HARRISBURG, OCT. 13 – Residents who lost their driver’s license or other PennDOT issued cards, titles, plates or stickers are eligible to have those items replaced for free, according to state Sen. Connie Williams.

“This new opportunity applies to any Pennsylvanian who lost a PennDOT-issued item or a driver’s license as a result of a flood,” Williams said. “For those who already have replaced their driver’s license, learner’s permit, title or other PennDOT-related items, refunds will be offered.”

Driver’s license products include duplicate licenses, learner’s permits and photo identification cards. Motor vehicle products include replacement license plates and stickers; registration cards; duplicate titles; and Person with Disability placards.

To apply, residents should complete a PennDOT MV-FLOOD form, which is available through the state Web site at www.paflooding.state.pa.us or through either of Williams’ offices. Forms can be submitted through Williams’ offices, or directly to PennDOT by fax to 717-705-1046; e-mail to DMVFLood@state.pa.us; or mail to PennDOT Flood Disaster, P.O. Box 68592, Harrisburg, PA 17106-8592.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 8.

Residents who already have received replacement items are asked to complete the same MV-FLOOD form, check the box of the items they replaced and write in red on the top of the form “Refund Request.”
