WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES GRANT FOR PHILADELPHIA REVELS 2002 THEATER PRODUCTION HARRISBURG, November 26, 2002 - - State Senator Connie Williams today announced that the Philadelphia Revels received a $5,000 grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development. The grant will be used to fund the Revels’ 2002 Theater Production entitled "Christmas Revels – A Celtic Revel." The Christmas Revels returns for six performances at Centennial Hall on the campus of The Haverford School, December 12, 13, 14 and 15. "The 2002 production will be filled with the joyous sounds of a Celtic Revel," Williams said. "The Revels is a living tradition that bonds together all participants -- audiences, performers and volunteers -- as companions in celebration," Williams said. Williams said the Revels performances blend song, dance and drama into seasonal celebrations. "I hope many come to enjoy the sounds of the Highland bagpipes and the percussion of Irish step dancers as they compete with Scottish dancers." Tickets may be purchased by calling 610-949-9410. |
