DEC. 8th LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL DISASTER ASSISTANCEHARRISBURG, DEC. 3 – State Sen. Connie Williams reminds victims of the Aug. 1 flood that they have until Dec. 8th to apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. “This deadline is for individuals and businesses that suffered flood damage from the summer storms and not from tropical storms Ivan or Jeanne that occurred between Sept. 17th and Oct. 1st,” Williams said. “If you haven’t already applied, I encourage you to call the toll-free number today.” The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s toll-free teleregistration number is 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Callers who are speech- or hearing-impaired can use the TTY number at 1-800-462-7585. Both lines are open from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday. Applicants also can register online at www.fema.gov. Homeowners, renters or businesses affected by damage from the tropical storms (Sept. 17th to Oct. 1st) have until Dec. 18th to apply for FEMA assistance. |
