RECYCLING GRANT AWARDED TO UPPER MERION HARRISBURG, DEC. 5 – State Sen. Connie Williams announced today that Upper Merion Township would receive a $234,671 grant for its recycling efforts. "If people ever wonder of they are truly making a difference when they take the few extra minutes to separate their trash, this grant is tangible proof that they are," Williams said. "While the state grant is an incentive to communities to increase recycling efforts, it also is proof positive that people can make a difference. One bottle or can, one person, one community at a time, recycling is creating a cleaner Pennsylvania for each of us to enjoy today and for the future." Upper Merion's grant amount was based on the 18,166 tons recycled for calendar year 2005 and the municipality's population. |
